“Galileo’s head was on the block. The crime was lookin up the truth”- Indigo Girls.
The New Year is here. We often begin with resolutions. My paramount resolution is to be present in my interactions. Everyone you meet may have a message for you that day. That creative energy is available to us every day. Listen to family that care about you. Listen to the stranger who does not know you. That means more Wake and Bake this year. Too often we get caught up in the day to day and forget our own humanity. All of us are working each day to make sense of the world that we live in. Those actions come in many forms, such as providing for and being with your family or belonging to a community, and they are our fortress from which we can safely choose what to deal with and not deal with. This space is my fortress.
There are certain truths in life that need to be challenged so that the greater truth can emerge. We have been fortunate to witness this happen in our lifetime. Women’s rights, Civil Rights and Gay Rights were all won because the truth was challenged and a greater truth emerged. Those lessons have clearly changed the rest of the world as well. Everywhere we look today we see the growing emergence of the human desire for individual freedom. These values are clearly in conflict with traditional cultures and so we witness, at great cost, the spasmodic violence and suffering that comes with change.
America has experienced the personal, civil and political violence (the Civil War cost America 700,000 lives) before emerging to become a better country. Remember that when you look at what is going on around the world. Our world views, at that time, were equally divided. We sacrificed more blood, than all other countries, for the belief in the truth that all men are created equal. Somehow we have put that violence behind us, but the journey to a better country took another 150 years.
There are now eight billion people on the planet. We were 300 million in 1000 AD. Truth was as important to them as it is to us. They shared the same values. They faced the same doubts and false idols that we do because life’s problems do not pass with the passing of each generation. We have lost faith in our representatives, like those before us, who seem more interested in personal power than competent leadership. We see Western dilettantes throw blood at Picasso and Middle Eastern terrorists behave like barbarians. Somehow we are unable to speak about the failures of Islam or the shortcomings of capitalism without offending someone. Somehow we no longer want to get to the truth.
Quick back story on Galileo and the Pope. The story began almost 100 years earlier with the work of Copernicus who established a heliocentric view of the universe. Galileo’s telescope confirmed the findings of Copernicus but the Church was not ready to accept the science that clearly most of the world already knew before Galileo was born. Galileo never questioned the institution. He simply said he was adding to the science of astronomy. The institution, Rome’s Catholic Church, resisted the information until it could create a new story to maintain their power and narrative. The Church silenced the critics until it could reform the narrative. They could not kill Galileo because the truth was clear for everyone to literally see, so they sent him to house arrest for the rest of his days.
One of the lessons from that story is to not let the public or institution scare you into silence, in your homes, when you know the truth. If you need to speak to friends and family do not be afraid to do so. Be polite. That is called freedom of speech. If they choose to not speak with you again on the topic, it is on them, because they do not have the will, or most likely, the information to discuss the subject intelligently. The pope is not going to be putting your head on the block so at most you will lose some followers or soft friends.
This has been a most unusual six weeks here in New Jersey. United States Senators, United States Coast Guardsmen, New Jersey State Police and numerous local police officers and officials are reporting the presence of unidentified aerial phenomenon. US military bases in New Jersey report incursions of these “drones” over their bases. The commotion is so great that it forces a reaction from the White House and DOD. Sergeant Schultz said “ I know nothing, I see nothing…”. Did not hear from the CIA about this…... The government has been lying to us about many different things recently, but the lies that they tell us, about UAP’s and UFO’s, follow the same playbook. Delay, dismiss, deny. Everything we were seeing was explainable and we had been smoking too much weed. We do have a lot of good weed in New Jersey.
New Jersey and New York folk have a certain way. First we do not have time for bullshit so if we are stopping to look at the night sky something must be going on. We are sarcastic and we are skeptical, but we have common sense. If the government said it was a special military program we would probably go along with that. And that is what could be going on! But when you obfuscate, when you delay, when you dismiss and when you make us out to be cretins than you build further doubt in anything government says.
Truth is a series of waves, of information and energy, that moves our planet in directions unforeseen. This may be one of those moments, among so many in our lifetime, that we are fortunate to experience. In the last 75 years we have gone to the moon, sent space probes beyond our galaxy and launched the James Webb telescope to see the outskirts of the universe. We have taken over 10,000 years to look out beyond our heliocentric galaxy and ask the universe if we are alone. There are rock drawings from the ancients, across continents and millennium, that depict seemingly unconscious mythical figures, that are common in appearance. This is our constant expression and search for truth, from civilization to civilization, throughout our human history. We always look to the stars.
The discussion I would like to have with everyone in 2025 is do you want to know? I am not talking about secret black box military programs that spend trillions of our tax money. Or the advancement of physics beyond the Einstein model of the universe? I simply want to know if we possess evidence of life, outside our current definition of life on our planet. And as wonderful as it would be to know amoeba exist on another planet, I believe small grey figures with large eyes would be more interesting. That information belongs to mankind and not any government.
Our government may have evidence of non human intelligence since the Roswell, New Mexico crash in 1947. That iconic story is amazing to read about, and the historical record since then is significant, but please remember that we just had two Congressional Hearings in 2023 and 2024 about UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon). This subject is now out of the realm of science fiction and into the world of reason and science.
There are numerous whistleblowers who have testified behind closed door hearings about the government programs. They have testified to Biologic remains and physical craft retrieval programs. That means bodies and crafts. There are currently two fantastic documentaries on the streaming services. The Program and Cosmosis on Apple Tv present factual and credible truth about these programs. We are having active discussions about non-human intelligence and advanced flight in public. One of the interviewees, in The Program by James Fox, captured the essence of the conversations that we can have.
He spoke of a questionnaire for the compartmentalized research and development groups working on UAP research regarding UAP’s. The participants were asked to rate the value of full disclosure, according to different disciplines, on the public at large. Would be there be large economic displacement? Would people panic and make a run on bank accounts? Would governments act with unpredictable actions? How would emotionally disturbed people handle the information? How would the religions of our world react?
Each individual group, by the value of its rating system, did not support the release of UFO information at this time. Our government continues to resist releasing clear information to the public on the subject. That is most evident currently in the New Jersey Drone Event. Congress and the People are pushing harder for the truth about the mystery programs. The power of the institutions, Eisenhower’s “military-industrial complex”, or CIA and Lockheed, is always resistant to change and the truth. When the body of evidence becomes so obvious that everyone can see it with their own telescope, like the creative genius Galileo, then the political government will have no choice and will change its narrative.
Until that time of disclosure, a young twelve year old remembers standing in awe in front of his house. His friend George did not see the object hanging over his house. Before he could call out his name this bright orb disappeared into the horizon. There are millions, if not billions, of Galileo’s out there. Flash forward to Saturday December 13, 2024 . The object above me was not on my flight radar app and looked quite unconventional in my high powered binoculars. That was a drone of unknown origin.
The powers that be cannot keep the people, like our ancestors, from looking at the stars and seeking the truth in their mystery and beauty. Man deserves to be free of all fears and myths that still permeate our civilizations. Perhaps our human myth of traveling alone through space and time is ready to be challenged and we deserve the evidence to find a greater truth. It is time to have a deeper conversation about truth in our life, like we did when we were 21, listening to music until three in the morning, and wondering about our place in the universe.
Peace to Everyone!
And while they are at it, can we have the Kennedy files and the Epstein files?
Hello readers: Nice to be back.. Going to do some different things this year. There are bakeries to review as well. May steal a Portnoy bit and do some live video shots at a bakery. Hope to drop some 5 minute podcasts that keep it real. Do some deep dives into a particular album. There are close to 500 records sitting in a living room waiting to be discovered. It is important to live in the moment when you get to this junction. Hope you enjoy the weekly song and photo. This week has me obsessed with Dylan’s live recordings 1974-1976.. This is the pinnacle of his live performances.
I am also going to start a hiking diary page. If you use the substack app you should be able to find it in the draft column. Otherwise I will send it out once a month. It will be an ongoing guide to hiking parks in New Jersey and the Northeast…
The picture this week of the graffiti covered trains brought a smile to my face. The amount of work and organization to get this done is impressive. Every freight container has a stamp from some ambitious artist. Somehow I am going to do a story on these folks!
Peace to Everyone!
Another reason to enjoy Sunday mornings. Welcome back!
Welcome back
