"They are real."

With three words, former President Barack Obama, opened up the proverbial can of UFO/UAP worms. When asked about the former President’s remarks, our current President said that Obama had probably violated some classified information. That was probably related to a side bar comment about an air force base called Area 51 in Nevada. Our current President follows that up with a directive to “identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life.” Note the important distinction made here between two forms. When I wrote “you can’t handle the truth” there was never a thought that we would actually see Epstein files or UAP files. We may not have seen all the Epstein files, here is looking at you CIA, and we may not see all the UAP files, here is looking at you CIA, but a White House directive calling for transparency on UAP files is a big deal and a big change from any previous administration.

There has been momentum, propelled by real world events, that has preceded this change in course. Some may say this is to distract from the Epstein files, but let’s take it at face value. Look at all the events in 2025 surrounding UAP. In September 2025 the House Oversight Committee entered into the public record the testimony of four former United States military members. Each one reported on their personal experience regarding UFO eyewitness exposure and intelligence reports. This is the second Congressional hearing in the last three years on this phenomenon. That hearing, in July 2023, featured USAF Major David Grusch, the most significant American whistleblower since Julian Assange, who revealed that the United States has an active UAP retrieval program that is in possession of material, craft and biologics. ( what is a biologic? Is it a body ? Is it organic material?).

There have been American military videos leaked all year to the UFO Internet Crowd. There was this amazing jellyfish orb flying over a base in Iraq. There was an orb which absorbed a direct hit from a Raptor hellfire missile and kept moving at full speed. Major airports in Europe were shut down because of active “drones” in the last two months. There were 135 sightings reported in Pennsylvania in the month of January 2025. Two thousand sightings for the first six months of 2025 were recorded. Nature published an article about transient images in the sky, before satellites, that correspond to date of nuclear test events in the 1950’s. This physical evidence is one part of the story. There are thousands of reports from credible sources for decades, from commercial and naval pilots, that cannot be dismissed as a mass delusion. Enigma, a UFO reporting app, has 9000 Underwater Submersible Object reports in its library.

It sure seems like “something is happening here, and what it is ain’t exactly clear.” That is the real mystery of this wonder. All of us bring our own personal stuff to this uncertainty. Some of us want to know. Some of us could care less. Carl Sagan, when questioned about ET intelligence, was fond of quoting John Adams. “ Facts are stubborn things, and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” There is all this complicated stuff. Evolutionary time, Galaxy distances, and light years. Humans have had radios since 1895. Radio waves travel at the speed of light. If the nearest civilization is one hundred million light years from ours when did they leave to get here? And how did they know we were going to be there when they revved up the DeLorean.

There is much to the old saying, “be careful what you wish for”. After all how can one be sure that ET will be friendly. J.D Vance recently said that we should not assume that they are extraterrestrial and may be “spiritual forces working on the physical world”. Every significant religion uses similar metaphors when discussing the struggle of life. Each individual and each society chooses between good and evil for themselves and those around them. The people of Israel built an idol in the desert after being rescued from slavery. God did not let that generation enter Israel. The tests never stop for human kind and perhaps we are at that time again. Does the world really want to know that we are not alone?

Perhaps the truth is too difficult to understand. Have you ever tried to read the first page of Genesis? Sentence by Sentence. How does one identify the unformed from the formed and void from the light? Always Two forms. Day and Night. Water above from water below. The Expanse above from the Expanse Below. Truly one has to be hitting the mushrooms by now. It is the same way with aliens. Obama did not call them extraterrestrials. There are numerous questions about the origin story of aliens. When you see that they have been part of the human story around the world, recorded on tablet, cuneiform or rock, one could say they have always been here in one form or another.

Is it possible that consciousness exists to serve the purpose of the alien or God’s existence. Does God or aliens exist without human consciousness. If we did not eat the apple how could we ever know the difference? Human survival and human struggle may be the struggle between competing species of non human intelligence. Each manifests itself, in different ways, propelling mankind into a series of cataclysmic stories, like the Flood Narrative, satisfying the ongoing thirst for being.

Our human striving is monumental. We build bridges over insurmountable rivers. We send satellites, with earth’s treasures, to the far reaches of space. We carry children through labor and into this crazy world while imprisoned in concentration camps. Our human beauty is incomparable. Michelangelo, Beethoven and Shakespeare are as awesome as the view from the canyon, a walk in the forest or a chair at the beach. As Starman once said “"You are a strange species. Not like any other. And you would be surprised how many there are intelligent but savage. Shall I tell you what I find beautiful about you? You are at your very best when things are worst.”

The Gods and aliens thought they found a pliable and compliant species to work out their grand plans. The story is still waiting for an ending. What this writer finds surprising, and this is my bias because of personal experience, is the lack of general interest in this topic. This has to be the most consequential event in history, let alone in our lifetime, and yet the information and conversation continues to drive people out of the room. It is like the AI conversation. AI technology will change the world unlike any technology that has preceded its existence. The computer is learning to teach itself more quickly than we can tell it how to think. This is referred to as the singularity. Maybe Claude will reveal more about God and NHI than anyone wants to know. Maybe that is why they are releasing the tapes. God told us not to eat the apple.
